Infectiradar is a participatory digital surveillance programme to track and trace infectious disease. The purpose of Infectiradar is to map and monitor the symptoms of infections, in people residing in India for research, preparedness and policy guidance.

What is Infectiradar

Infectiradar is a crowdsourced programme to track and trace infectious disease. The purpose of Infectiradar is to map and monitor the symptoms of infections, in people residing in India. The data is used for scientific research into infections.

The platform takes inspiration from other partiicpatory digital infection surveillance platforms now widely used elsewhere in the world, including FluSurvey, Infectieradar (BE), Infectieradar (NL) and Influweb (IT) . These platforms have already proved valuable in tracking changes across other infectious diseases.

Who can participate ?

Anyone living in India who has Internet access can participate voluntarily and for as long as they wish.

As part of participation, you are expected to answer a short questionnaire every week. The link to the questionnaire would be mailed to you or messaged to you. The questionnaire would hardly take 20 seconds to fill in.

Your participation is extremely important to us and you, since this would enable creation of a better understanding of infectious diseases in your area.

Why should I participate ?

You should participate since it is important to track infectious diseases and get the best possible picture of the situation at the moment. Someone who is never ill is just as capable of falling ill as someone who is often ill. Broad participation can also help us to understand why some people get infections less often.

Participate

Your participation is extremely valuable. Your participation in the initiative would enable us to have insights into infectious diseases and their spread in India.
